A recent freedom of information request concerning the replacement of the Leopard I main battle tanks revealed that General Leslie put his career on the table to ensure troopers got the equipment they needed. I really wasn't surprised, he was my Battery Commander in Germany and he was the best damn leader I've every had the privilege to serve under. The Canadian Forces face their greatest challenge in a generation and the superior leadership demonstrated by the CDS and General Leslie is an important part of the multitude of resources the forces will require to be successful.

Interesting. The Armed Forces certainly has turned the corner when it comes to Leaders. Gone are the days of Yes Men who are put in place to knod and accept the minimum requirement from ineffective Political Masters.

I also served under General Leslie, I will reserve comment on his prior leadership endeavors, but I will say that I am happy he is standing up for the troops.
