and Global warming has nothing to do with it.

Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, China, Gaza, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Israel, North Korea, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan, West Bank, Zimbabwe, the list of problem areas gets longer everyday. While Canada can't save everyone, I believe our Nation has a significant role to play. Unfortunately, none of Canada's politicians seem to understand the story of the 'Three Little Pigs." If Jack Layton had his way unarmed Canadian Soldiers would embark on a global whirlwind tour quickly constructing straw infrastructure with "Jack" knives (since rifles are too militaristic). Stéphane Dion would allow the soldiers to remain armed but would restrict the soldier's to an arbitrary time restriction and a budget that would only allow building with sticks. As for Stephen Harper, if he put as much effort into Canadian Foreign policy as he does into solidifying power in the PMO and George Bush said he could, he might allow Canadian Soldiers to build with bricks. Whether the building would keep out the "Big Bad Wolf," would depend on him would allowing them enough time to make sure the mortar set.

As for the leaders of the PQ and Green parties, Gilles Duceppe couldn't care less as long as only square-head soldiers were used and Elizabeth May's foreign policy seems to be to throw money at NGOs with no accountability.

Don't get me wrong, everyday I give thanks that I live in Canada but the current crop of Canadian politicians turn my stomach. I wish Canadians would stop their navel gazing, start considering the world as a complete organism and realize lifting a society out of anarchy is the work of decades if not a generation. Remember, Canada has been at it for over 140 years and we have lots of room for improvement.

It is unfortunate that our world is in such a state, but hardly surprising. The great debate about what to do has polarized many. From the head in the sand peace movement to the neocon ideal of your with us or against us.

I have said it before and I'll say it again. A thousand different political parties and interest groups form nothing but division.

While some may not be happy with the present Government we have, I am solid in my support because while my Son is over there I know that our government has their back.

Is there room for improvement? Absolutely, there always is.
